Just a few days ago, swimming in the ocean and relaxing on the beach, I enjoyed a peaceful summer day. Since then, energy has invaded my life. Driving to and from the airport, dragging luggage, hiking to dining halls at 7am, and seeing cheerful faces all along; it has been a pleasure hosting the Indian and Pakistani teachers here at my university. I don't know all of your names yet, and I still have much to learn and share with you; but we have created a new community. I eagerly await the many opportunities this community holds in store for us.
Let us remember that we must be the change we see in the world. We have a special opportunity to learn and grow and challenge ourselves during the next six weeks; I look forward to making the best of it - even at the expense of my summer rest!
